IRL PRogram associate
ACSF is partnering with Hands and Feet of Asheville to recruit a new team member in our In Real Life After-School Program!
Hands and Feet of Asheville is a non-profit organization at the intersection of service, faith, and justice that pairs young adults (21-29) with working experiences at Western North Carolina non-profit partners doing vital work in our community, addressing long-term recovery from Hurricane Helene.
The Asheville City Schools Foundation is an independent not-for-profit organization that collaborates with our community to do whatever it takes for all ACS students to thrive. Our foundation operates as both a funder and provider of pre-K-12 programming. Our work provides transformational opportunities to over 4,300 students and over 650 educators in our district each year. Our programs are grounded in a pursuit of equity and the desire to magnify the genius, encourage the curiosity, celebrate the joy, and support the aspirations of our students and teachers.
Our Values and Beliefs
We believe in the genius of every child and that each deserves a high-quality education
We believe equitable public schools are essential to sustaining our democracy
We value diverse community voices and believe collaborative engagement of the community creates a vibrant and equitable school system
We value our teachers and staff. We believe in providing resources and opportunities that inspire excellence in teaching and learning
Fun, love, safety, growth and collaboration are the core values of our programming for youth. We believe in supporting students to live a curious life and to follow their dreams.
We believe that how we allocate money reflects and demonstrates our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in Asheville City Schools.
Our Commitment to Equity
We will do whatever it takes to center anti-racist, equitable practices in every facet of our organization including finances, programming, and operations.
We will do whatever it takes to include student voice in guiding our organization; we commit to asset framing, recognizing the genius, joy and aspirations of our BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, (and) People of Color) students in particular who have been most impacted by inequities in our school system, city, and nation.
We will do whatever it takes to share our humanity: as an organization committed to lifelong learning, we are committed to growing through our mistakes and our successes.
ACSF’s board adopted policy prohibits discrimination in all its programs and activities on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, disability, political beliefs, sexual orientation, or marital or family status. We actively solicit participation from all ethnic and racial backgrounds. This job description is simply a description of the position and its normal duties.
