Professional Development Funds
ACSF awards professional development funds because we know that highly trained educators inspire high achievement among their students and that highly resourced mental health professionals are able to more fully support all students. This funding allows educators to further their educations and pursue advanced degrees and certifications, to stay current and expand their strategies by attending conferences and professional development, and to increase the students they reach by taking on new responsibilities and roles within ACS.

THE ASHEVILLE 6
culturally responsive teaching training
In 2020, the Asheville City Schools Foundation, in partnership with Asheville City Schools and The Equity Collaborative, launched the Racial Equity Ambassador Program (REAP) to center student voice in creating more equitable classrooms. From this work, student leaders developed the Asheville Six Strategies, inspired by The Equity Collaborative’s Students’ Six model.
