Paul Garrity

Paul Garrity serves as Director of Impact and Innovation for the Asheville City Schools Foundation. A certified teacher and school administrator, Mr. Garrity is entering his 18th year in public education and his 10th year with Asheville City Schools.

During his teaching career, Mr. Garrity taught 3rd Grade in Richmond, VA, 1st Grade in Washington, DC, and Kindergarten in Atlanta, GA. In 2016, he moved with his family to WNC, joining ACS as a 3rd Grade Teacher at Lucy S. Herring Elementary. In his 10 years in ACS, Mr. Garrity has served as a Project-Based Learning Coach at Montford North Star Academy, a North Carolina Principal Fellow at Hall Fletcher Elementary and Asheville Middle School, and Assistant Principal at Claxton Elementary. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Government from the College of William and Mary and a Masters in School Administration from Western Carolina University.

Mr. Garrity brings a passion for public schools to our team. As the child of educators, the son-in-law of educators, and a product of Charlottesville City Schools in Virginia, Mr. Garrity knows the value that our communities gain from strong, well-funded public schools. He is beyond excited to join the Asheville City Schools Foundation and do whatever it takes for all Asheville City Schools students to thrive.
