Logo Usage Guidelines

Our logos help people recognize who we are and the work we do with Asheville City Schools. Consistent use of our logos helps build trust, makes our communications feel connected, and strengthens the ACSF brand across our community.

We have a small family of official logos for ACSF and our programs. Please use the logo files provided in this toolkit whenever you are representing ACSF or an ACSF program.

Use the official logo

Please use the approved ACSF logo files as they are provided. Do not recreate, redraw, or make your own version of an ACSF logo.

Our logo files are available in several formats and colors so you can choose the version that works best for your project.

Keep it recognizable

Please do not:

  • Stretch, squish, rotate, or distort the logo.

  • Change the colors of the logo.

  • Add effects, outlines, shadows, or other treatments.

  • Rearrange or remove parts of the logo.

  • Change the typeface or recreate the logo with different fonts.

  • Put text or graphics directly over the logo.

  • Crop the logo in a way that changes its intended appearance.

Give the logo some space

Our logos need a little breathing room. Don't crowd them against the edge of a graphic, photo, page, or another logo.

When using the ACSF logo alongside a partner or school logo, give each logo enough space to remain clear and recognizable. Logos do not need to be the same size, but each organization should be represented appropriately.

Choose the right version

Use the logo that provides the best contrast and readability for your background and format.

  • Full-color logo: Our primary logo and the best choice when color and background allow.

  • Black logo: For light backgrounds or one-color applications.

  • White logo: For dark backgrounds or situations where the other versions aren't readable.

  • Hand partial logo: A secondary brand mark that can be used in appropriate spaces where the full logo isn't necessary.

Program logos

ACSF's programs have their own logos, but they are part of the larger ACSF family.

Use the ACSF logo when you're representing the Foundation as a whole.
Use a program logo when you're specifically talking about that program.

When both are needed, make sure the relationship between the program and ACSF is clear.

When in doubt, ask

We're a small team, and we're all creating things in a lot of different places. You don't have to be a designer to use our brand well.

If you're not sure which logo to use or how to use it, please reach out to Bree Clayton, Director of Communications & Development at bree@acsf.org.
