HOME > How You Can Support The ACS Foundation The Asheville City Schools Foundation (ACSF) is an autonomous 501(c)(3) that supports the students of Asheville City Schools. It is independent of the Asheville City School System and receives no federal or state funding. The ACS Foundation is supported by individual and corporate donations, grants from philanthropic organizations, special events, product sales and "fee for services" programs. By definition, the ACS Foundation is a "local education fund," one of many across the country. LEFs are nonprofit, community-based organizations dedicated to increasing student achievment in public schools and building broad-based support for quality public education. The ACS Foundation approaches all activites and programs from the position of acting in the best interest of the students.

You can donate financially as well. There are a number of ways to do this. You may mail you tax-deductible check to the ACSF (address at the bottom of this and every page), or you can give online through a secure portal like Guidestar. • Celebration for City Schools - A fun-filled night each September. Enjoy food, music and dancing while helping support The ACS Foundation. Celebration for City Schools 2007 will be Sunday September 23 at the Orange Peel from 6-9pm.

• Roots Music Day - a fun and educational outing at the Grey Eagle, designed for kids and their families, this interactive event features the best in live music.

• Tee Up for Education - annual event in June; major source of funding for the ACSF

• Synergy - limited-edition sculpture created and donated by local sculptor Michael Keeney to commemorate the ACSF's tenth anniversary
