The fifth grade Adventure Day was created in 1991 by Tom Heck of the YMCA and the Foundation’s PRIDE Committee. It is a hands-on experiential learning program that encourages self-control and self-esteem through team-building exercises. System fifth-graders and the students at the Randolph Learning Center experience this one day program provided by the Beaverdam YMCA in the fall. A follow-up half day program occurs in early spring.
