The Asheville City Schools Foundation is an independent non-profit organization dedicated to educational success for all city schools students.
Since its inception in 1988, the Foundation has:
Allocated over $600,000 in community-funded grants to teachers.
Awarded over $770,000 in scholarships to students.
Recruited and trained hundreds of volunteers for tutoring and mentoring students.
What your donations equal:
$35 pays for one hygiene kit for a student experiencing homelessness
$50 pays for two hours of one-on-one academic coaching support for a student after-school
$100 provides one full day of arts education in your child’s school
$150 provides flexible funds for school-based social workers to use so that they can help support families in crisis and keep children in school
$250 provides supplies for healthy-eating and healthy-cooking classes through FEAST
$500 pays for a semester of college books for a graduating AHS senior
$1,000 provides an opportunity for a teacher to receive the professional development or training he or she needs to bring their best to each student
$2,000 provides an opportunity for a teacher to bring the world into the classroom by providing hands-on experiential learning, integrated arts, and new materials that increase student engagement and information retention
To maintain our good work, the programs relies on community contributions. Only 8% of the Foundation’s total budget goes toward general operating costs, and 100% of that money is raised yearly from the community.
As part of our commitment to the Asheville City Schools, the Foundation accepts donations to designated funds. To set up or contribute to a designated fund, please contact us.
